Bought without logbook
Bought a car without a logbook?
If you bought a vehicle and did not receive the V5C logbook, a V62 form may be needed to apply for the registration certificate in your name. This is common with private sales, auctions and missing paperwork.
Typical situations
- Private seller could not provide the V5C
- The vehicle was purchased at auction
- The previous owner lost the logbook
- You need the V5C issued in your name
